Capital One Card Lab - Where You Decide Everything!

Capital One is a company that offers online banking, bill payments, and a number of different charge cards, both from MasterCard and Visa. Sure, you may be able to find some of those services with other banks, but can you build your own credit card? The Capital One Card Lab allows you to do just that.

America’s first fully customized credit card, created by you and for you, is only available at Capital One. Using a convenient online tool, you can choose a credit level, decide which features and rewards are most important to you and then add any image to your card. Unfortunately, these one-of-a-kind cards are not yet available for Canada, International, or Small Business cardholders.

When you make your application using the online form, you will be taken through a series of interactive choices, answering questions that will help to create your personalized credit card. You will be able to decide whether you want rewards of miles, points, or cash, a low interest rate, and an annual fee.  Key account terms will be explained as you go along, to help you understand the choices you make. Any introductory offers will also be made available.

Knowing your credit level will help determine which features and options are available to you.  There are a number of categories of credit: excellent, good, average, or limited experience with credit. Each category is fully explained, so you know exactly which level applies to you.

As your choices are made, the tool will eliminate any options that don’t work together. For example, if you want to earn rewards quickly, the Card Lab tool will only show credit cards with an annual fee, since those are the ones that will help you with that goal.

After choosing the options you want in a credit card, you select the picture you would like printed on the card. You can upload your favorite photo or drawing, or select one of the images offered from the Card Lab. Once your choices have been made for your custom credit card, you simply complete an online application. When your application is approved, your new card will be mailed to you.

If you like the sense of control that comes when you are able to choose what you want in a credit card, then the Capital One Card Lab is for you. And having the image of your choice on the card means no one else will have one quite like it.
