Handling Broken Drill Bits For Wall Materials

There used to be occasion during my life while I would much rather gone at the mall with gal pals than entertaining notions of drill bits for wall surfaces. Those used to be the happy-go-lucky times while I happened to be a student dwelling at home with my mom and dad. Dad was basically the individual who accomplished the majority of improvements in our household whereas Mama kept it sparkling and made sure all of us ate dinner together every evening. I am aware now that, at the ripe old age of 18 I was merely deluding myself that I was a grown-up.

Since I have migrated out of the parental home and am proceeding to make my own way in society, drill bits for wall areas and painting those walls, not to mention sanding down skirting boards and tiling floor surfaces have grown to be my specialty. Of course I could ask my darling pops for recommendations as to renovate the tiny apartment I now call home but that might be cheating. Besides, I had been insistent about being a success at living alone and it wouldn’t be fair to my father now that he’s got a bad heart. I’m sure he’d certainly assist me right away if I asked him to however his physician has forbidden the man to undertake any kind of physical labor after he had a heart attack.

I’m telling you this so that you can fully grasp why I didn’t simply contact my dad and request his assistance after a drill bit got broken in the wall. I had gotten far with my house renovations; I was finished with every one of the unpleasant backbreaking tasks and had eventually gotten to the point of undertaking some room decor. Prior to the bit getting stuck in my carefully painted sunshine yellow wall I I wouldn’t ever have thought it possible that this might happen. The moment it did, the first thing I did was telephone my best friend for some advice and a lot of consolation.

Naturally, she said what any great pal would; that it can occur to anybody and subsequently suggested I try chewing some chewing gum and then putting the wad into the hole to try to get the bit to stick to the chewing gum so that I might pull it out. Since I had previously tried dabbing superglue on the one end of a stick, putting the dowel into the cavity, hanging around for the adhesive to dry out, and drawing it out again with the chunk of broken bit not attached, I didn’t think that any amount of chewing gum would do the job.

The bit was tightly jammed in the wall and I presumed that I would make an even worse mess of the situation if I attempted to drill around the hole, as one other female friend suggested I try. Hence, after calling the rest of my women pals and receiving similar advice, I commenced calling the men. The best recommendation I received from that quarter was to fill the hole with spackle, cover it up by hanging a painting, and ignore the existence of the broken drill bit. For want of a better solution, that is exactly what I did. Who knew that drill bits for wall surfaces might lead to these kinds of difficulties for an unsuspecting do-it-yourself queen?
