How to cope with Anxiety during the night.

Anxiety at night seems the worst possible form of an anxiety attack. I would think that the great majority of anxiety suffers, would like to be skilled to treat night time anxiety. I don’t know what it is, but having night time anxiety feels tons worse than having anxiety during the day.

I used to suffer from night time anxiety really bad, it got to the point where I started to be frightened of the night time. And of course the added thinking that I gave to it the more powerful my night time anxiety got. It started to be a viscous circle.

How i learnt to treat night time anxiety, was that i set into place some coping strageties.

The leading thing I did was to have a dvd player in the bedroom, and watched my favourite films to divert me from my anxiety. For the reason that I really wanted a decent nights sleep.

Really what I desired was a interruption from my anxiety. Focusing on a film that I liked distracted my mind, which gave me small breaks from my anxiety. Except it was more than that, if a diversion could halt my anxiety it just proved to me that my opinion where creating my anxiety.

This in actual fact started to support me treat my night time anxiety. A tiny break from my anxiety was sincerely appreciated, I can tell you.

I also bought some relaxation cd’s to listen too as I was trying to go to sleep. Being relaxed truly does benefit anxiety. While we are in a anxious state are bodies are so tensed and primed for the fight or flight syndrome, we in truth need to get our bodies to let go and feel calm and peaceful. I cannot stress this enough, get your body to rest.

I also tried exercises at night before I went to bed to get free of all my surplus energy. This may possibly sound surprising but I was up for trying anything to treat night time anxiety. My night time regime was exercise, immerse in the bath, then either a dvd or a relaxation tape to assist me get off to sleep.

You may perhaps also try taking some natural herbs at night to help you unwind and get off to sleep. Make sure you consult a professional who can guide you on what to take and how much to take.

If you do not mind taking drug to treat night time anxiety, then there are sleeping tablets or sedatives that you can take that will help you improve your night time anxiety. Again ask your general practitioner about what tablets are available and harmless to take.

But remember taking medication for anxiety does not heal your anxiety, but it does give you a rest from it. The best way to treat anxiety is to find a counsellor or personal coach who can help you to work through the issues that are causing your anxiety. This is the only way to treat night time anxiety and s it.
