Jordan Shoes Facts & Opinions

If you say the name Michael Jordan to any human in the world, they will more than likely know exactly who he is I am the biggest Kobe Bryant fan around, but I have to admit that MJs name will always b more well known than any NBA player past or present For those that know me, they are confident that I can hold my own in a debate on why Kobe Bryant is better than MJ, but I am not going into that right now as it is not my purpose for writing this article. Instead my purpose is to talk about what Air Jordans have done for not only basketball, but the sneaker culture as a whole. If you have been around for any time, or know much about the Jordan brand you are likely aware of the headache the NBA made for MJ and Nike for releasing and wearing that shoe.

I always find it interesting that Jordan did not just give up, and say scratch the idea of having his own signature shoe. I know he is glad he did not do anything silly like that What is obvious is the fast that Nike is now a heavyweight in the fashion and business world, and they would probably be smaller had the Jordan Brand never surfaced. Nike literally has their hands in everything these days, and I believe the growth that allows them to be such a giant in the fashion and business world has a lot to do with Air Jordan Brand shoes. When it comes to Jordan himself, I think the reason he is sooo well known is because of the exposure his sneakers got since they were featured in every avenue of advertising back in those days. Really if you think about it, would MJ have been as good had he not had all the pressure of having to perforom? Would he have had his own basketball team had the Air Jordan sneaker never been created? I am going to say no.

One of the biggest things that just stuns me is the fact that kids and teens these days often feel that they must have a pair of Jordans or they are incomplete, yet they have not once in their life watched a live game of Michael play at the arena or on TV. I am not saying that everyone who wears or wants a Jordan shoe needs to have seen him play, but it is just to show how far reaching his products have become.
